The final “Bend Off” for the 11th Annual Notch Pipe Welding challenge was held on May 14, 2009 at Notch Mechanical Constructors’ Chicopee facility. Nine area vocational schools and 54 welding students competed with their work judged on its integrity, appearance and strength. Dan Ravosa from Howell Cheney Technical High School won the competition and was named “Top Notch Welder”. He received various welding related items and $500.00 in cash. Howell Cheney also received a check for $500.00 for shop supplies.
